President’s Message: Gratitude for ACA Members, Volunteers and Our Progress

As we reflect on the past year, I’d like to share some updates with you and offer my sincere thanks for all the volunteer work and member support ACA has benefited from during 2025.

Dr. Nynas

I’ll start by updating you on our primary legislative efforts around the Chiropractic Medicare Coverage Modernization Act. As you may recall, we were able to reintroduce this important legislation in January prior to Engage, and at this point in mid-December we already have 132 cosponsors in the House and 12 cosponsors in the Senate. We appreciate everyone who has made—and continues to make—calls or send emails of support to members of Congress. Your messages are making a difference! If you haven’t done so already, please click here to reach out to your members of Congress in support of the bill.

I’d also like to recognize the tremendous contributions of ACA members who volunteer on any of our numerous committees and advisory boards. Your expertise and individual perspectives are invaluable to the association’s ongoing work, which in turn benefits members in the field. As an example, this year members of ACA’s Code Development and Valuation Subcommittee and its Code Utilization and Application Subcommittees – both of which fall under the Health Policy and Advocacy Committee – have been hard at work updating ACA coding guidance documents that are created in collaboration with the American Medical Association CPT process, so you can be assured you are getting accurate guidance straight from the source. ACA offers members more than 20 coding and documentation guidance documents on the website; take some time to review and use these valuable member-exclusive resources.

ACA’s mission is to inspire and empower our members to elevate the health and wellness of their communities, but I must say our members amaze and inspire me with all that they are accomplishing both in their communities and for the chiropractic profession. I encourage everyone to take a peek at the “Members Making News” blog posts that were published in April and September to learn about some of the great work our colleagues are doing to advance chiropractic and patient care. If you have an accomplishment to share, send a note to [email protected].

I should also mention that we are putting the finishing touches on Engage 2026, and I hope to see many of you there. We will offer new and exciting social events to enjoy (including a monuments tour, a ghost and history walking tour, and a yoga session) along with our traditional lobbying efforts and educational sessions. It will be a great opportunity to enhance your professional and leadership skills as well as enjoy some fun with old and new friends. Registration and event schedules are available here.

With members’ volunteer contributions and support behind us, I am excited to see what the next year brings for the profession as well as ACA. Please continue to reach out to ACA at [email protected] with questions, concerns and your victories so we can all celebrate together.
