American Chiropractic Association (ACA) members are making news as they lead the chiropractic profession in the most constructive and far-reaching ways, elevating the health and wellness of their communities.

Dr. Andrea Albertson was co-author on a letter published by the peer-reviewed journal Neurological Sciences. The letter was in response to a case report about vertebral artery dissection that was biased and had missing information. Dr. Albertson was also lead author of a retrospective study about the utilization of spinal manipulation by older adults with spinal pain published by published by Cambridge University Press. In addition, she is a RAND REACH scholar.

 

 

Dr. Kate Baker was elected to the Kentucky Association of Chiropractors board as first vice president. She was previously named the 2023-2024 Chiropractor of the Year in Kentucky. In addition, her office has been named Best Chiropractic Office in Henderson, Ken. for the past three years.

 

 

Dr. Christopher Dailey II was appointed to the City of St. Louis, Missouri Health Board by the Honorable Mayor Tishaura Jones. Dr. Dailey is currently the only Black male serving on the board. As a board member, he will advise, support, and advocate for strategies and resources that will enhance health and well-being in the City of St. Louis.

 

 

Dr. Christine Goertz was honored with the David Chapman-Smith Award at the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) biannual conference earlier this year. The award is given in recognition of exceptional leadership, enduring service, and outstanding contributions to the advancement of the chiropractic profession worldwide. Dr. Goertz is a professor in musculoskeletal research at the Duke Clinical Research Institute and vice chair for implementation of spine health innovations in Duke University’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Vern Saboe testified this past summer in front of the Oregon Management-Labor Advisory Committee Subcommittee on Access to Care. Dr. Saboe used data from a 2021 Workers’ Compensation Research Institute Study, which showed that, among 2 million claims across 28 states, injured workers treated exclusively by a chiropractor had 61% lower costs. Dr. Gina Wolf was appointed in June by Washington State Gov. Bob Ferguson to the Washington Health Benefit Exchange Board. The board is comprised of 11 members, which includes a chair, the director of the Health Care Authority, the Insurance Commissioner and eight members appointed by the governor. These individuals have expertise in variety of health care areas including individual coverage, small employer coverage, plan administration, finance and economics, and actuarial science.
