Education Sessions Included in NCLC Registration
ACA’s annual meeting, the National Chiropractic Leadership Conference, brings you cutting-edge, evidence-based education sessions featuring some of the chiropractic profession’s most respected thought leaders and content experts. Many sessions also offer continuing education credits. ACA strongly recommends that those attending NCLC take advantage of the quality education programs offered, as they are included in the price of registration. Below are sessions taking place tomorrow; look for the full schedule for the week here.

Preparations for Legislative Plenary Session
If you’re headed to Capitol Hill tomorrow morning, stop by the Omni Shoreham’s Palladian Room for a free grab and go breakfast while supplies last. The Legislative Plenary Session will be held tomorrow from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Capitol Hill Visitors Center (CVC). Please arrive one hour early to allow time for the security screening. We recommend visiting CVC’s website in advance for a list of prohibited items. Once you enter through the main entrance of the CVC at First and East Capitol Streets and clear security, proceed through the doors and turn left. Take the stairs or elevator to the lower level (reference point is Auditorium). From there, turn left and proceed to Congressional Meeting Room North (CVC 268).

Tickets to FICC Luncheon Still Available: Act Fast!
There are a handful of tickets left for the FICC luncheon, which takes place on Friday from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the Congressional Room. The cost is $125 per ticket. If you are interested in attending, inquire at the Registration Desk (West Registration).

NCLC 2019 Kick Off: Preparation and Opportunity Meet This Week in Washington
ACA President N. Ray Tuck Jr., DC, kicked off NCLC this afternoon, welcoming attendees and giving thanks to this year’s many sponsors. About 800 people have traveled to Washington, D.C., to be part of the event. In addition to advocacy, many are taking part in NCLC’s numerous education sessions: Registrations for CE credits have doubled from last year! In his remarks, Dr. Tuck called attention to the events that made the past year successful for ACA by showing a video featuring the association’s 2018 accomplishments. View it now!
Lobbyist John Falardeau took the stage next to review lobbying basics as well as discuss ACA’s legislative priorities, including Medicare parity and access to chiropractic for military retirees and members of the National Guard and Reserve. He emphasized that the new class of 101 freshmen in the 116th Congress represents a great chance to educate members about chiropractic. “We have a fresh group of people who don’t know anything about our issues – that’s a great opportunity,” he said, advising doctors and students to humanize issues by telling stories about the patients they serve.
Falardeau pointed out that legislative talking points are available on ACA’s website to take to Capitol Hill meetings and share with members of Congress and their staffers. He also requested attendees to fill out the NCLC lobbying debrief form after their congressional meetings. It’s available on the NCLC app as well as at www.acatoday.org/feedback.
SACA Welcome Meeting and Awards: SCUHS Wins Chapter of the Year
More than 400 SACA members are attending NCLC this year. Many of them gathered today for the SACA Welcome Meeting, a high-energy event that unites SACA Nation and prepares them for the NCLC experience. A highlight of the gathering is presentation of the SACA Annual Awards:
The Most Improved Chapter of the Year Award was presented to the University of Bridgeport School of Chiropractic for its leaders’ success in increasing participation in the chapter’s activities and overcoming obstacles by being interactive and collaborative.
