Arlington, Va. – The Chiropractic Summit, an umbrella leadership group of chiropractic organizations and prominent business partners, met on April 28 in Phoenix, Ariz., and unanimously voted to support the national Medicare reform initiative. They also stated that they want to see Summit partners help to grow public support to help eliminate discrimination faced by chiropractic patients in Medicare.
To help build public support of the initiative, ACA has developed the National Medicare Equality Petition, a grassroots effort to eliminate a blatantly anti-competitive provision of Medicare law that arbitrarily limits reimbursement for medically necessary services delivered by doctors of chiropractic (DCs).
“I am proud that the organizations representing the Chiropractic Summit came together and unanimously agreed on this very positive and powerful initiative,” said Summit Chairman Lewis Bazakos, DC. “It’s time that we finally level the playing field when it comes to Medicare reimbursement and remove the barriers that our patients face. To accomplish this goal, it’s going to require a strong, coordinated effort by all major players in this profession.”
