When working with the youngest of patients, clear communication and professional interactions with parents, as well as other healthcare providers when co-managing cases, is of utmost importance. With the right training, doctors of chiropractic can use these opportunities to step up as healthcare leaders. Ashley Randermann, DC, MS, would know.
Dr. Randermann is a prenatal/pediatric focused chiropractor and assistant professor at Parker University, where she teaches clinical development courses and prenatal/pediatric content. She also holds a Master of Science in Neuroscience and is certified in Webster Technique, functional dry needling, craniosacral therapy, and other prenatal/pediatric-centric techniques. In her role at Parker, she works closely with chiropractic students and clinicians to develop structured approaches to patient communication, assessment and red flag identification, ethical decision-making, evidence-based case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
“My teaching, professional engagement, and continuing education continually reinforce the importance of clinical accuracy and leadership within today’s evolving healthcare environment,” she notes. Read more about Dr. Randermann and her upcoming presentation below, and register for Engage 2026 here.
How is the topic you are presenting at Engage 2026 relevant to today’s chiropractor?

Today’s chiropractors are more likely than ever to encounter families seeking support for issues such as infants with torticollis, feeding difficulties, tongue-tie concerns, and early-life developmental issues. However, many practitioners and students report a need for more knowledge in how to examine, co-manage, communicate, and lead confidently when treating within scope and/or co-managing in these cases. This gap contributes to inconsistent care pathways and a misunderstanding with other healthcare providers, particularly when it comes to evidence-based practices and scope.
At the same time, there is a growing emphasis in health care on early identification, interprofessional collaboration, shared decision-making for patients, and evidence-informed practice. Pediatricians, lactation consultants, dentists, and other prenatal/pediatric providers value clarity, safety, and appropriate scope of care—areas that align directly with chiropractic strengths when appropriately framed. Chiropractors who can clearly articulate what they assess, how they contribute, and when they refer are better positioned to integrate into family-centered care teams and contribute to safe and optimal outcomes.
This session opens the door to equip chiropractors with practical frameworks, communication strategies, and clinical tools to navigate these real-world scenarios. It answers a pressing need in education, supports professional credibility, and aligns with broader healthcare trends toward collaboration and early intervention.
What makes you an expert in this area?
My expertise in pediatric chiropractic leadership is grounded in both clinical practice and academic training. I have a focused clinical background in prenatal and pediatric care and am Webster Certified. My clinical experience working in two hospital-based office locations (as well as within a midwifery practice and building a private practice) have exposed me directly to real-world interdisciplinary prenatal and pediatric care, collaborative communication, and appropriate referral and co-management pathways. I have extensive experience networking and co-managing with pediatric providers and professionals. This work has strengthened my ability to manage complex pediatric presentations while maintaining clear scope boundaries and evidence-informed care.
I also serve as an Assistant Professor at Parker University, where I teach clinical development courses and prenatal/pediatric content. In this role, I work closely with chiropractic students and clinicians to develop structured approaches to patient communication, assessment and red flag identification, ethical decision-making, evidence-based case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. My teaching, professional engagement, and continuing education continually reinforce the importance of clinical accuracy and leadership within today’s evolving healthcare environment.
Academically, I hold a Master of Science in Neuroscience, which informs my approach to neurodevelopment and evidence-based decision-making.
What first interested you in this topic?
Working with pregnant mothers and newborns from the start of my career offered a unique perspective on how meaningful and impactful this work can be during some of life’s most formative moments.
Caring for families through pregnancy, birth, and early infancy is both humbling and deeply rewarding. Being present during these transitions reinforced the importance of not only clinical skill, but also education, trust, and compassionate communication. Each milestone, challenge, and success reminded me that this work extends beyond treatment and into long-term support for growing families.
These early experiences inspired me to further develop my clinical skills and become more engaged in education and leadership, with a focus on helping chiropractors deliver safe and effective collaborative care within prenatal and pediatric settings.
Can you provide one or two takeaways from your presentation/topic that Engage 2026 attendees will not want to miss…and why?
Participants will gain practical communication strategies for working with families and interdisciplinary providers in prenatal and pediatric settings. These tools help chiropractors articulate their role clearly, build trust with other healthcare professionals, and position themselves as reliable members of collaborative-care teams. Attendees will leave with a comprehensive framework for the pediatric patient that helps them confidently determine when chiropractic care is appropriate, when co-management is indicated, and when referral is necessary. There are also some clinical pearls sprinkled in! Together, these takeaways support stronger clinical outcomes, improved professional relationships, and more confident leadership in today’s evolving healthcare environment.
