Arlington, Va. – The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) installed new leadership last week during its annual meeting in Washington, D.C. The ACA Board elected Marcus Nynas, DC, of Billings, Mont., as president and Kris Anderson, DC, MS, of Grand Forks, N.D, as vice president for the 2025-2026 term. In addition, the ACA House of Delegates elected three members to join the Board.
Dr. Nynas is a staff chiropractor with the Montana Veterans Administration (VA). He has been a member of the Board since 2023 and served as vice president for the past two years. Previously, he was ACA’s Montana delegate and chaired committees focusing on key policy areas such as payment equity, payer relations and Medicare. Dr. Nynas has also held appointments in the Montana Department of Labor and Industry, including president of the state’s Board of Chiropractic.
Dr. Anderson works at a federally qualified community health center (FQHC) in addition to running a private practice. He has served on the Board since 2024. He is chair of the ACA Health Policy and Advocacy Committee and deeply involved in work on code development/valuation and Medicare. Dr. Anderson is also an ACA advisor to the American Medical Association RVS Update Committee (RUC) Health Care Professionals Advisory Committee (HCPAC).
In separate elections, ACA delegates elected three individuals to fill open seats on the Board. They are:
- Robert Ault, DC, MBA, of Hudson, Ohio. Dr. Ault has been in private practice in Ohio for 18 years. He is also co-founder of a consultancy firm that specializes in brand strategy, patient experiences and entrepreneurship. Dr. Ault has been active in state and local chiropractic and business organizations. He is a past president of the Ohio State Chiropractic Association.
- Michael Massey, DC, of Athens, Tenn. Dr. Massey has been in private practice for 34 years. With additional certifications in coding and health quality management, he has consulted on topics such as coding and billing and payer relations. At ACA, he served previously as a state delegate and contributed to ACA committees on coding and reimbursement, integrated care, payment policy and Medicare. He is a past president of the Tennessee Chiropractic Association.
- Michael Welker, DC, of Butte, Mont. Dr. Welker has been in private practice for almost 30 years. He is a past president of the Montana Chiropractic Association and serves on the association’s insurance, education and legislative committees. Locally, he has been a board member of the Butte-Silver Bow Health Department for eight years.
Continuing their terms on the ACA Board are Adrian Stratton, MBA, CPP, PRP, of New York, N.Y., and Maithy Ta, DC, of Kansas City, Mo. Ending terms are Immediate Past President Leo Bronston, DC, MAppSC, of Onalaska, Wis., and Eric Benson, DC, FIAMA, of Grand Island, Neb.
