Scott Bautch DC, DACBOH, CCST, CCSP, is the former CEO of Allied Health Chiropractic Centers, one of the largest doctor-owned chiropractic groups in the country; he has also served on the board of directors since the company was founded in 1994. Currently, Dr. Bautch maintains an active practice in Wausau, Wis.
In 1983, Dr. Bautch completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan University College of Chiropractic. He also completed a diplomate in occupational health, and several certificates and programs related to occupational health and sports injuries.
Currently, he sits on the American Chiropractic Association Business Development and Revenue Committee. He is a past chairman of NCHPP Chiropractic Quality Assurance Committee, past chairman of Security Health Plan Chiropractic Quality Assurance Committee, and past chairman of the Wisconsin Chiropractic Association on Occupational Health Board. He is also the past president of the American Chiropractic Association Council on Occupational Health and the International Academy of Chiropractic Occupational Health Board; and has served on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Chiropractic Association, the American Chiropractic Workers Compensation Committee, and as an advisor on the 365 ANSI Committee on Carpal Tunnel. He previously participated on the WPS Chiropractic Committee and WPS Medical Committee.
Dr. Bautch also finds time to present to and consult with several industries. To date, more than 2,000 industries have benefited from his knowledge and passion for chiropractic. He also co-authored the manual “Industrial Carpal Tunnel Manual for Physicians” and the book Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: A Practical Guide for Those Who Work with Their Hands.
Dr. Berki studied at Lorain County Community College, Bowling Green State University as well as Cleveland State University. He received his doctorate from the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois and has been practicing in Avon since April of 1995. Dr. Berki is board certified in Acupuncture by the American Board of Chiropractic Acupuncture.
Kimberly Besuden, DC, CFMP, ACBN, brings 25 years of skilled alternative health care to the training table. She combines her passion for wellness by bringing balance through chiropractic, fitness and nutrition.
Dr. Besuden completed her chiropractic education and training at Life University in Marietta, Ga., in 1994. She was named Clinician of the Year at graduation. She is also a 1982 graduate of Purdue University. She was trained as an educator and taught in the Orange County Public School System (Orlando, Fla.) in the mid-80s. She continued her passion for wellness by creating a personal training company called Ultimate Fitness.
Now in a successful private practice as a chiropractic physician and certified functional medicine practitioner, she promotes wellness to her patients and practices what she preaches. As an author and frequent radio guest and contributor to magazines, newsletters, and online journals, she has insights, education and specific life and wellness tools to share with audiences of all types. She is a national speaker for corporations and teaches continuing education to doctors.
T. Matthew Christopher, DC, MBA, CPC, CPMA, CPCO, CPB, is a chiropractor, peer reviewer, and certified professional coder (CPC) with an MBA in Healthcare Administration and additional compliance, billing, and specialty coding certifications. Matthew and his wife, Elizabeth, also a chiropractor, reside in Kentucky with their two children.
Dr. Christopher is a licensed chiropractor in Kentucky and South Carolina with extensive experience performing chiropractic peer reviews. For more than 10 years, he has provided education on medical necessity and coding for conservative musculoskeletal treatments to groups of providers, coders, expert witnesses, attorneys, law enforcement officials, and insurance industry special investigators. He has also coauthored insurance industry clinical practice guidelines and coding guidance for state and national professional associations.
Dr. Christopher is a member of the Peer Review Committee of the Kentucky Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the Health Policy and Advocacy Committee of the American Chiropractic Association. Additionally, he has held multiple executive board positions within the ACA Council on Forensic Sciences and served on the Insurance Relations Committee of the Kentucky Association of Chiropractors.
Ian Coulter is a senior health policy analyst at the RAND Corporation, where he has also held the Samueli Institute Chair in Policy for Integrative Medicine. He is a professor Emeritus at UCLA where he was a professor in the School of Dentistry; a professor at the Pardee RAND Graduate School; and a research professor at the Southern California University of Health Sciences. He is currently an adjunct professor at CMCC. Coulter has published over 200 articles, chapters, and books. He is the past Vice President for Integrative Medicine at the Samueli Institute.
His current grants include NIH grants to establish a collaborative research center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine (REach), a grant from NBCE for a collaborative research center, a grant from Samueli Foundation to study the state-of-science in homeopathy and grants from NCMIC for supporting preliminary studies in CIH. Previous awards from NIH include one for an Evidenced-Based Practices program in CAM; evaluation of hospital-based integrative medicine; the context effects on the health encounter; and Center of Excellence grant to study Appropriateness of Care in CAM. He also has had grants from the DoD to conduct comparative effectiveness trials of chiropractic in military facilities; and completed an evaluation of the creation, implementation, and evaluation of health policies in Health Affairs for the DoD and a study of an Integrative Pain Clinic in a military health facility.
Coulter was born in New Zealand and holds degrees in sociology from the University of Canterbury (B.A., M.A. Honors) and the London School of Economics & Political Science (Ph.D.) and an honorary doctorate in humanities from the Southern California University of Health Sciences. He was a Pew Fellow at the RAND/ University of California at Los Angeles, Center for Health Policy Study from which he received a certificate in health policy analysis. Additional qualifications include a diploma in educational management from the Institute of Educational Management, Harvard University. He is past President of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Dr. Coulter is internationally recognized as an expert in Chiropractic, CAM and IM and is one of the most experienced researchers in these fields. He was recently awarded the Humanitarian of the Year award by the ACA.
Andria Marie D’Amato, DC, DABCA, FIAMA, received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Acupuncture and a Fellow in the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture. She completed a medical acupuncture internship in Beijing, China with Master Wan Su Jian and earned Daoist qi gong training certification.
She practices full time for the Veterans Health Administration, offering chiropractic and acupuncture services in the Pain Management department at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. She is trained in Clean Needle Technique. She has shared her expertise in acupuncture as a lecturer to multidisciplinary groups providing licensure renewal and introductory acupuncture course work. She is the owner of Red Lotus Services, offering group wellness-based concierge holistic medicine services in Ohio. When not travelling the globe, she resides in Akron, Ohio, with her small zoo of furry (2 kittens, 1 dog) and feathered (1 small parrot) animals.
James F. Geiselman, Jr. DC, MS, DACBN, CCSP, ICSC, CNC, CES, NREMT, is an associate professor of Allied Health at Graceland University (GU) in Lamoni, Iowa. He is also the co-owner of the Iowa Performance Institute, where he works as a chiropractic physician focusing on functional health and nutrition. He began his career in health care as a paramedic before continuing his education and earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2015. He also graduated summa cum laude with his Master of Science in Nutrition and Human Performance degree in 2017.
At Graceland University, Dr. Geiselman teaches courses within the Division of Health and Movement Science, particularly within the Allied Health major. He helps to prepare students interested in pursuing careers in physical therapy, chiropractic, athletic training, teaching, coaching, strength and conditioning, and more.
Dr. Geiselman has postgraduate training and certifications in nutrition and sports medicine and enjoys volunteering his time with student athletes at Graceland. He’s earned his Diplomate from the American Clinical Board of Nutrition (DACBN), is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP), and holds his International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic (ICSC).
He serves on numerous university committees and national organizations. He is the GU faculty athletic representative to the NAIA Heart of America Athletic Conference, Heart Awards Committee, Graceland University Men’s Wrestling Faculty Mentor, secretary/treasurer for the American Chiropractic Association Council on Nutrition, associate editor for the journal Nutritional Foundations, and the co-host of the “Nutrition on a Mission” podcast.
Ashlee Kates-Ascioti, DC, MS, DACBR, earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northeast College of Health Sciences in 2016. She continued her studies at Northeast in the Master of Science in Diagnostic Imaging residency program, graduating in 2019. That same year, she became a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology (DACBR).
Dr. Kates-Ascioti is an assistant professor at Parker University, where she enjoys teaching in the DC curriculum and assisting in resident training. She currently serves as the vice president of the ACA Council on Diagnostic Imaging, as a co-organizer for the annual Resident Educational Workshop for the American Chiropractic College of Radiology (ACCR), and as a member on a variety of committees for Parker University and the ACCR. Her research interests include the impacts of pedagogical approaches in healthcare education and educational assessment outcomes.
Robert Kessinger, DC, DABCI, DACBN, is a board-certified chiropractic internist and board certified in clinical nutrition. He graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in 1988. He is an instructor in ACA’s Chiropractic Internist Board Certification program and a clinical neurology instructor with the ICA’s Upper Cervical Board Certification program. Dr. Kessinger is a frequent guest speaker at various conferences and has been published numerous times in various journals. He is the 2022 recipient of “Professional of the Year” award from the ACA Council on Nutrition and the 2022 recipient of “Upper Cervical Doctor of the Year” award from the ICA’s Upper Cervical Council. He maintains a chiropractic internist practice in Rolla, Miss.
Dr. Klotzek is a graduate of Logan University and holds a diplomate in Chiropractic Neurology granted by the American Board of Chiropractic Neurology. He also holds fellowship status granted by the American College of Functional Neurology in functional neurology, vestibular rehabilitation, and brain injury and rehabilitation.
He is an accomplished clinician with over 25 years of private practice experience and an accomplished worldwide lecturer, giving hundreds of lectures on various topics in neurology. With his background, Dr. Klotzek has become an accomplished educational program developer and has written numerous educational programs, including a 300-hour postdoctoral program in neurology and numerous other programs, including topics on pain management, whiplash management, brain-based adjusting, and vestibular rehabilitation.
Outside work, he likes to play guitar, enjoy jazz music, have in-depth conversations with friends, travel, and spend time with his family and two nephews.
Kelly Lange, DC, CCSP, has been practicing in Ashland, Ore., since 2004. She is a certified chiropractic sports physician with clinical focus on extremity injuries including feet, knees, shoulders, and wrists. She specializes in biomechanical and sports-related injuries and has extensive rehab, athletic training, and massage experience.
Dr. Lange graduated summa cum laude from Palmer Chiropractic College after obtaining her B.A. in biochemistry from Lewis & Clark College in Portland. She is an evidence-based practitioner, staying current with research and attending seminars on a variety of subjects. She also serves as a presidential advisor to the American Chiropractic Association Sports Council Executive Committee, having served as president from 2014-2016.
Currently, Dr. Lange is the medical director for the Pine to Palm 100-mile endurance race that takes place from Williams to Ashland, Ore. Her specialty is endurance athletes, although she enjoys working with all types of athletes. An ultrarunner herself, Dr. Lange understands the demands of training and works to keep her athletes’ training on track.
Stuart McIntosh, DC, MS, is the secretary for the ACA Rehab Council. He is also an associate professor at Cleveland University-Kansas City (CUKC), actively contributing to the Doctor of Chiropractic program. Dr. McIntosh earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan University. He furthered his education with a Master of Science in Sports Science and Rehabilitation.
Dr. McIntosh’s professional journey began in private practice, and in 2014, he joined CUKC. At the university, he has served as a full-time clinical educator, overseeing and mentoring interns in patient care at the Chiropractic Health Center. Currently, Dr. McIntosh is an academic instructor, specializing in physiotherapy courses within the chiropractic program. His areas of expertise extend to functional movement assessment, soft tissue diagnosis and management, and rehabilitation.
Robert McKnight, DC, DIANM, serves as the president of the ACA Council on Chiropractic Orthopedics. He is the clinic director at Advanced Spine & Rehabilitation of Utah LLC, a multispecialty spine care center consisting of chiropractic orthopedists and medical physicians. Dr. McKnight is a board-certified chiropractic orthopedist and has been in practice for 20 years. He is also an instructor for the University of Bridgeport. Dr. McKnight has well over 10,000 hours of direct clinical training with chiropractic orthopedists, pain management physicians, family medicine doctors, and orthopedic spine surgeons. He has assisted with thousands of interventional pain management procedures and spine surgeries. Dr. McKnight is certified in regenerative medicine. He has served as the team chiropractor for professional football and baseball teams, athletes in the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association, professional dancers, and Broadway performers.
Christopher Petrie, DC, DACBR, currently serves as an associate professor and the director of clinical education at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minn. He completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, and completed his radiology residency at Parker University in Dallas, Texas, where he subsequently served as a faculty member and department chair. He has held Diplomate status with the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology since the completion of his residency in 2009. He previously operated a private consulting practice serving clinicians and imaging centers in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex.
Drew Sams, MS, CPT, CES, CNC, currently teaches in the Division of Health and Movement Science at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. He teaches because he believes it is important to know how the body works and why your body goes through its specific processes.
Sams’ focus on health and movement science stems from his interest in the always-changing world of healthcare and the vast knowledge that healthcare providers possess. Sams believes the world will always need students educated in the human body and how it works.
Sams was a 4x NAIA National Qualifier and a 2021 NAIA All American for the Graceland University Wrestling Team. In addition to his work as an instructor, he is an assistant wrestling coach for Graceland.
Chris Tomshack, DC, is the founder and CEO of HealthSource, America’s Chiropractor®. After graduating from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, a commission in the United States Air Force and a heavy dose of sciences, he studied business at the graduate level before matriculating at Palmer College of Chiropractic. Dr. Tomshack launched HealthSource in 2006 and designed it to be a premium brand containing outcome-based clinical methods and operational mastery. This relentless pursuit of excellence has driven HealthSource to be the most technologically advanced chiropractic franchise in the world, diametrically different and far more advanced than other chiropractic franchise models. These endeavors have led to Dr. Tomshack being interviewed on Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC, The Weather Channel, Entrepreneur Magazine, Forbes, Inc Magazine, The American Chiropractor, and Dynamic Chiropractor.
Crystal Zagwyn, DC, CPhT, DABFP, CME, attended the University of Maine, Orono, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. She graduated from Sherman College of Chiropractic with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2012. She then received a post-doctorate Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Professionals after completing her studies with training through the Chiropractic Development International (CDI) program in 2017. She teaches throughout the U.S. on the topics of standards of care, compliance, documentation, patient outcomes, clinical research, and integration into clinical practice, and works with chiropractors to enhance patient outcomes with professional standards. She is an active board member of the Maine Chiropractic Association as well as the current president of the American Chiropractic Association Council on Forensic Sciences.
Dr. Z, as she is often called around the office, enjoys tennis, singing, providing community education and outreach, as well as the change of seasons in Maine. She is a lifelong learner and loves continuing her education and knowledge of comprehensive and collaborative care styles within the chiropractic profession, constantly learning and researching the most supported, evidence-based information available so that she can provide the best care for her patients.
