Members Need to Know

Your ACA Membership Department is constantly looking for ways to improve your member experience and to keep you informed of important information and opportunities that can enhance your practice as well as advance the chiropractic profession.

To that end, below are four things we think members need to know as we near the mid-point of 2024:

  1. The deadline for the Clinician Practice Information Survey (CPI) has been extended. It was back in February that invitations to take part in the CPI went out via mail and email to some 333 doctors of chiropractic across the country. ACA strongly encourages you to complete the survey if you were contacted. Luckily, the deadline has been extended through the end of July 2024. The CPI is part of an effort that includes ACA and 170 other healthcare organizations committed to gathering up-to-date and accurate data regarding the expenses related to running a modern healthcare practice. Currently, Medicare and other payers use data from 2006 to calculate physician reimbursement. The results of the CPI will be used to advocate for fair reimbursement for providers, including chiropractors. Learn more in ACA’s news release and this Q&A on the ACA Blog. If you have questions, contact ACA at [email protected].
  2. NextGen has a revamped Professional Development Hub. Providing doctors of chiropractic who are just entering practice with the information and tools they need to succeed is one of ACA’s focus areas – it’s the reason NextGen was created. ACA has generated a wide range of content over the years that is beneficial for new grads, and we’ve curated some of the best in the newly revamped NextGen Professional Development Hub (scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Hub). Seamlessly switch between articles, presentations, courses, and marketing resources to facilitate your professional needs. Don’t forget to check out ACA’s Career Center to discover open positions. You must be logged in to view. Reach out to [email protected] with questions.
  3. The theme for National Chiropractic Health Month (NCHM) 2024 has been announced! Doctors of chiropractic have a deep understanding of the importance of a healthy musculoskeletal system. That knowledge is vital to those who aspire to live a long and healthy life. The term “healthspan” is used today to describe the years we live in good health, without major chronic illnesses and disability, and able to do the things that matter most. Along with cardiovascular health, metabolic health and other factors, the importance of a healthy musculoskeletal (MSK) system is recognized as a key component in extending healthspan. This October during NCHM, you can join chiropractors nationwide to encourage the public to “Plan for a Strong Healthspan” by sharing information on the importance of maintaining a healthy musculoskeletal system as we age. In the months to come, look for updates and the NCHM toolkit at www.acatoday.org/NCHM.
  4. We’re months away from the November elections; now is an ideal time to contribute to the ACA Political Action Committee (PAC). The ACA PAC is an important tool that supports ACA’s advocacy efforts. It enables members who share common interests to join together to help elect candidates who understand and support the issues that are key to the chiropractic profession. ACA supports candidates on either side of the aisle with the aim of creating key congressional allies who will support pro-chiropractic legislation, such as the Chiropractic Medicare Coverage Modernization Act. The work of the ACA PAC is funded entirely by voluntary contributions from ACA and SACA members. About 270 members have contributed to the ACA-PAC this year.
