How to Use Social Media in a Chiropractic Practice

Reza Eftekhar, DC, is an adjunct assistant professor at the prestigious George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, but he is likely known more widely as @myfavoritedoctor on social media. Dr. Eftekhar has built a strong online reputation as a chiropractor by using social media as an extension of patient education and trust-building, not as a gimmick. He’s created and managed content that reaches large audiences while remaining compliant, professional, and patient-centered. At Engage 2026, Dr. Eftekhar will share the secrets to his success with the presentation, “How to Use Social Media in a Chiropractic Practice.”

How is the topic you are presenting at Engage 2026 relevant to today’s chiropractor?

Social media is no longer optional for chiropractors—it’s one of the primary ways patients decide who to trust before they ever walk through the door. Today’s patients don’t just Google a chiropractor; they check Instagram, TikTok, Google reviews, and video content to answer one question: “Do I feel

comfortable with this doctor?”

At the same time, many chiropractors feel stuck between two extremes:

  • Overly polished, corporate-style content that feels inauthentic.
  • Or viral trends that generate views but don’t convert into real patients.

This presentation is timely because chiropractors are navigating increasing competition, rising marketing costs, and declining attention spans—while platforms are actively rewarding real, educational, personality-driven content over traditional ads. Understanding how to ethically, consistently, and authentically use social media can directly impact patient volume, retention, and reputation in 2026 and beyond.

What makes you an expert in this area?

My expertise comes from hands-on experience—testing what actually works in real practices, learning what converts followers into booked appointments, and understanding what doesn’t work despite looking good on paper. I’ve helped shape content strategies that balance credibility, personality, and scalability without sacrificing clinical integrity.

What first interested you in this topic?

My interest started when I realized how many patients arrived at my office already influenced—positively or negatively—by what they saw online. I noticed that patients who felt educated and familiar with me before their first visit were more confident, more compliant, and more likely to refer others.

I became more engaged when I saw how misunderstood chiropractic care often is online—and how powerful it can be when chiropractors take control of the narrative. Social media gave me a way to correct misinformation, show what care actually looks like, and humanize the profession in a way traditional marketing never could.

Can you provide one or two takeaways from your presentation/topic that Engage 2026 attendees will not want to miss…and why.

Takeaway #1: A simple, repeatable content framework chiropractors can use without becoming influencers. Attendees will learn how to create consistent, professional content in under 30 minutes a week—without dancing, trending audio, or burning out. This matters because consistency, not virality, is what builds patient trust and long-term visibility.

Takeaway #2: How to turn social media attention into real patients—ethically and predictably. I’ll break down the specific types of posts that lead to booked appointments, not just likes, and explain how to guide patients from “I saw your video” to “I scheduled my first visit.” This is critical for chiropractors who want measurable ROI, not just online engagement.

How many times have you attended or presented at ACA Engage in the past?
