Engage 2023 Call for Presenters

The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) announces its call for proposals for ACA’s annual conference, Engage 2023. You are invited to submit a session proposal for a 1-hour or 2-hour lecture or a 2-hour panel discussion.

ACA Engage 2023, which will take place January 25-28 in Washington, D.C., offers cutting-edge education, networking and leadership development opportunities, as well as the chance to educate Congress about the benefits of chiropractic to patients and society.

ACA Engage 2023 educational programming will feature a mix of learning formats that will provide registrants with the opportunity to take courses on-demand and through in-person learning events. Submit your education session proposal for a chance to be one of the thought leaders who advances the profession by sharing best practices and enhancing the skills of chiropractic students and practitioners.

ACA welcomes proposals in the following topic areas, but not limited to:

  • Biopsychosocial model
  • Clinical guidelines or best practices – overview and how to apply
  • Geriatrics, including balance and fall prevention
  • Functional rehabilitation
  • Health coaching, motivational interviewing
  • Neurology
  • Orthopedics
  • Radiology or imaging
  • Research updates/top research trends in chiropractic
  • Sports
  • Techniques (delivered without live models or by pre-recorded videos only)

Submission Guidelines and Information

All applicants must submit proposals online through our Survey Monkey application. The deadline to submit a proposal is Monday, June 13, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. ET – so act quickly! Final submissions must be received by this date to be considered for evaluation and selection. Applicants whose proposals have been selected will be notified by email on or about August 1, 2022.

  • You should be confident and knowledgeable on the subject matter you submit. Knowledge of the latest research/evidence is critical.
  • Session proposals should be evidence-based and have practical outcomes and fit within selected session format and timeframe.
  • The session title should immediately communicate the session content.
  • The presentation summary should be well-written, with clearly stated outcomes, and appropriately document theory and research and how it will engage attendees. Session summaries may be edited by ACA staff for publication on the conference website and mobile app.
  • ACA Engage 2023 education programs are learning experiences and noncommercial. Presentations should not be used for direct promotion of a speaker’s product, service, or other self-interest. Sales presentations will NOT be accepted.
  • The proposal should include clear and measurable learning objectives that describe what learners should be able to do upon completion of your session.
  • The proposal must contain content references that support your presentation. References should be recent— within the last 10 years. If you plan to present the published work or research of others in your materials, you must attribute all sources in full and in writing within your submission application.
  • Please include references or links to any past speaking engagements. References or links on the specific topic you are presenting are preferred, but not required.
  • List only those co-presenters who have committed to your presentation.
  • Speakers selected to present a session must participate in a training session to discuss technology and logistics. Sessions selected for on-demand will be pre-recorded.
  • Submission of a session proposal does not guarantee inclusion in the program


Session Formats

  • 1-hour Lecture (1-2 presenters, 50-minute interactive and engaging presentation and 10-min. Q & A)
  • 2-hour Lecture (1-2 presenters, 100-minute interactive and engaging presentation and up to 15-min. Q & A)
  • 2-hour Panel Discussion (1 moderator and up to 4 panelists, allowing time for panelist presentation and audience interaction)

Selection Process

Proposals will be reviewed and evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • How well the title, description and learning objectives align with each other.
  • How likely it is that the format and delivery methods selected will allow participants to achieve the stated learning objectives, including audience engagement appropriate to the objectives.
  • Presenter experience and knowledge in the topic area.
  • Topic focus and relevance.
  • Overall clarity of the proposal.
