*Member-Exclusive Content* ACA’s first Facebook Live discussion, “Women in Chiropractic,” has been viewed by more than 5,000 people to date. The discussion explored the opportunities and challenges that women encounter in the chiropractic profession and celebrated the unique approach and perspectives that they bring to patient care. Viewers were invited to submit questions during the broadcast, and following are answers from moderator Christine Goertz, DC, and featured guests Sarah Potthoff, DC, and Keita Vanterpool, DC.

DC2017 Opening Speakers Stress Chiropractic’s Opportunity to Make an Impact

Chiropractors are part of the solution to opioid addiction, high costs of spinal pain treatment and health care collaboration.

The chiropractic profession must take bold, innovative steps forward and collaborate with other professions to make an impact on some of the major challenges and trends in health care, according to speakers featured at the opening session of DC2017 in Washington, D.C., last week. The lineup of thought leaders from both inside and outside the profession challenged chiropractors to examine what they could do as a profession and individually to meet the needs of a society struggling with spinal pain, painkiller addiction and runaway health care costs.

New ACA Nominating Committee Members Appointed

The first ACA competency-based Nominating Committee was appointed during the association’s 53rd annual meeting in Washington, D.C., March 18. The committee is tasked with vetting candidates for ACA’s new governance structure based on their skills, experience and organizational need.
