Texas Chiropractors Lead the Way to a New NCHM Proclamation Record: 51!

In planning this year’s National Chiropractic Health Month observance, the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) wanted to provide the chiropractic profession with a way to connect with patients and communities as they continued to adjust to life during the COVID-19 pandemic. Granted, we knew this year’s observance, like everything this year, would be different. Leave it to the chiropractic profession to demonstrate just how “Active and Adaptive” it could be!

National Chiropractic Health Month: Help America Prevent MSK Conditions While Adapting to the New Normal

This October during National Chiropractic Health Month (NCHM), chiropractors nationwide will do their part to help people navigate the new normal without adding extra aches, pains and injuries to their concerns. With the theme “Active and Adaptive,” NCHM 2020 aims to raise awareness of the importance of movement, posture and stress management to our musculoskeletal health.

ACA Seeks Nominations for Open Positions on Its Board of Governors

The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) will hold elections early next year for two open seats on its six-member Board of Governors. Nominations for one chiropractor seat and one public member seat may be submitted on the ACA website from Sept. 14 through Oct. 9. The ACA House of Delegates (HOD) will vote on the candidates during its annual meeting in February 2021.

Get Started Now on Your NCHM 2020 Proclamation!

Each year, doctors of chiropractic and students reach out to their state and local governments to request proclamations declaring October as National Chiropractic Health Month (NCHM). The process can take a few weeks to complete so August is a great time to get started. This year’s theme, “Active and Adaptive,” encourages people to adapt in healthy ways to the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic by, for example, staying active, managing stress, and being aware of their posture when working from home. Inequity in Culture Leads to Inequity in Health Care

A Message from the ACA Board of Governors

The death of George Floyd is inexcusable. At the same time our country struggles to heal from the primary and secondary effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the events surrounding Mr. Floyd’s death in Minneapolis force us to publicly face the harsh reality that minority groups are still burdened by racism and oppression, which destroys lives and well-being in a way that no virus can match.

Faculty ACA Symposium Goes Virtual as Faculty Adjust to Online Learning

The first Faculty ACA Symposium takes place virtually on June 13, bringing together chiropractic college faculty members from around the country to learn and engage with their peers. The event – originally planned to take place at Keiser University in Florida – was transitioned to an online meeting to keep participants safe during the coronavirus outbreak. Organizers hope this will encourage more faculty to register and attend. ACA Blogs takes a moment to connect with Faculty ACA’s (FACA’s) president and vice president, Drs. Jennifer Illes and William Lauretti, respectively, to learn how the past few weeks have impacted chiropractic education, faculty members and students.

ACA Is Working to Expand Your CE Options

During the past few weeks, the American Chiropractic Association has been working to bring doctors of chiropractic information and resources that are crucial to navigating practice and business challenges presented by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Another area of our work is to expand access to CE credits on Learn ACA, our online learning platform, which offers a safe and affordable option for continuing education.
