Virtually No Excuse Not to 'Engage' This Year

Live and Recorded Education Options Offer Flexibility to Engage 2021 Attendees

Annual meetings are much anticipated in the association world, as members gather from across the country for professional development, advocacy and networking opportunities. However, with COVID-19 preventing large, in-person events, the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) embarked on a plan to reinvent its annual meeting, ACA Engage, in a virtual format this year that not only enables the chiropractic community to connect, but also affords greater access to education programming and continuing education credits.

“The virtual format will offer unprecedented ease and access to ACA Engage and its multiple opportunities for learning and professional growth,” says William Lauretti, DC, chair of the ACA Professional Development Committee, which curated the education programs at Engage 2021. “The lower registration rate also makes this conference more accessible than ever before. If anyone has ever been curious to attend in the past but could not make the arrangements to come, this is the year to participate.”

In addition to easy access, the online format offers greater flexibility to attendees. The conference education programs will feature a “mixed-learning” format of pre-recorded programs juxtaposed with live chats and discussion panels. Several live lectures will also be presented and recorded for later viewing.

“Several of the live chats and discussions will complement pre-recorded sessions,” explains Maria Buscemi, ACA vice president of education, “so just like at an in-person event you have the opportunity to engage with the presenters and ask questions.” (See list below.)

All Engage 2021 education session recordings will be available for a month following the conference, which runs Feb. 4-6, enabling registrants to go back and view sessions they may have missed or to revisit favorites.

The opportunity to go back to programs over a 30-day period also will enable attendees to view more programs and therefore earn more CE credits. In all, Engage 2021 features 10 CE-eligible courses.

Where to start?

After registering for ACA Engage, your first step should be to download the Engage 2021 app. Review the schedule and determine which events and programs you wish to attend. Then click the Dashboard and use the “Your Agenda” tool to assemble your own schedule so that you can refer to it on the days of the conference and easily access Zoom call-in information and supporting materials. All attendees will receive detailed instructions regarding how to download the app when they register for the conference.

“We certainly look forward to the day we can gather in person again, but ACA is proud that Engage 2021 will provide ACA members a chance to have a quality professional development experience this year,” notes Dr. Lauretti.
