Steven C. Roberts Sr. Speaks at American Black Chiropractic Association Annual Meeting

Arlington, Va. -- St. Louis businessman Steven C. Roberts, Sr., JD, LLM, who is a member of the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) Board of Governors, spoke on June 29 at the 37th annual American Black Chiropractic Association (ABCA) conference in St. Louis, Mo.

Roberts is the first member of the public, and the first African American, in the ACA’s history to join the association’s Board of Governors. He is a successful business entrepreneur who serves as president of The Roberts Companies, which features holdings in the fields of broadcasting, hotels and real estate. Roberts also serves on the boards of several publicly held companies, philanthropic organizations and nonprofits, including Logan University in Chesterfield, Mo.

During his speech to ABCA members, Roberts discussed the role he plays in providing an outside perspective to ACA board deliberations. He also touched on ACA’s continuing work on behalf of patients to expand access to chiropractic services in the Medicare program. Medicare beneficiaries are currently covered for only one chiropractic service (spinal manipulation) and must either pay out of pocket or seek care from other types of providers for additional chiropractic services, which creates a hardship for many seniors. About the American Chiropractic Association

The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) is the largest professional chiropractic organization in the United States. ACA attracts the most principled and accomplished chiropractors, who understand that it takes more to be called an ACA chiropractor. We are leading our profession in the most constructive and far-reaching ways -- by working hand in hand with other health care professionals, by lobbying for pro-chiropractic legislation and policies, by supporting meaningful research and by using that research to inform our treatment practices. We also provide professional and educational opportunities for all our members and are committed to being a positive and unifying force for the practice of modern chiropractic.
