Meet the Speakers

Stephanie Halloran, DC

Bio: Dr. Halloran earned her BS in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and her DC degree from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon. Following graduation from chiropractic school, she completed her VA Chiropractic Residency at VA Connecticut Healthcare System under Anthony Lisi, DC. Currently, she has a postdoctoral appointment at Yale Center for Medical Informatics while concurrently working towards her MS in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine through the University of Western States. Dr. Halloran sits on the American Chiropractic Association Editorial Review Board and the North American Spine Society Membership Committee and Political Engagement Committee. Her research interests include chiropractic care within the Veteran population and health disparities in low economic areas with a focus on access to complementary medicine.

Jennifer Illes, BSc, DC, MS

Bio: Dr. Jennifer Illes is a dynamic communicator who brings over 18 years of combined clinical and academic experience. She holds a bachelors degree in biochemistry, with a minor in psychology. She is a graduate of New York Chiropractic College, and holds a masters in applied clinical practice from National University of Health Sciences.

She was the first female kinesio taping instructor in Canada in the early 2000’s, and first chiropractor to complete a residency in orofacial pain at the University of Kentucky.

Her experience includes treating professional athletes with sports-related injuries. She is well experienced in spine and extremity evaluation and management, orofacial pain syndromes, and women’s health and wellness.

Dr. Illes currently serves as an associate professor at Keiser University’s College of Chiropractic Medicine in West Palm Beach, FL. She holds a House of Delegates position as the faculty president of the American Chiropractic Association. Dr. Illes is completing her RN degree this year, with ambitions of obtaining her FNP degree.

William J. Lauretti, DC

Bio: Dr. Bill Lauretti spent over 15 years in private practice in Maryland before joining the Chiropractic Clinical Science faculty at New York Chiropractic College in 2005. He has written numerous journal articles and textbook chapters about the safety of chiropractic neck adjustments, and has lectured extensively on the topic. He is a Spokesman for the American Chiropractic Association, who has been interviewed by major news outlets about chiropractic risks, including CNN, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, and Reuters International News Service. He is a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors, a past recipient of ACA’s Presidential Award for Outstanding Achievement, and was named the Maryland Chiropractic Association’s Chiropractor of the Year in 2000.

James J. Lehman, DC, MBA

Bio: Dr. Lehman is a board-certified chiropractic orthopedist, tenured Associate Professor of Clinical Sciences, and Director of the only three-year, full-time neuromusculoskeletal medicine residency program leading to board certification as a chiropractic orthopedist. He has taught post-graduate chiropractic orthopedics since 1998 and provided clinical rotations in sports medicine for fourth-year chiropractic students with the Bridgeport Bluefish professional baseball team for 10 years. While practicing in New Mexico, he mentored fourth-year University of New Mexico medical students. Dr. Lehman has been recognized as Academician of the Year by the American Chiropractic Association and Professor of the Year by the University of Bridgeport School of Chiropractic. Currently, Dr. Lehman is the Director of the University of Bridgeport Clinics and the Community Health Clinical Education Department, and credentialed as a chiropractic specialist within the Community Health Center, Inc. of Middletown, Connecticut.

Vivian Ly, DC

Bio: Dr. Ly earned her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Irvine and her DC degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic, West. Following graduation, she completed a one-year Chiropractic Integrated Clinical Practice Residency Program with the VA Connecticut Healthcare System. She currently works as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Yale Center for Medical Informatics.

Michael R. Wiles, DC, MEd, MS, EdD

Bio: Following graduation as a chiropractor in 1976, Dr. Wiles completed a residency program in chiropractic sciences and was awarded one of the first earned Fellowships in the College of Chiropractic Sciences of Canada.  He operated a busy urban multidisciplinary practice for 27 years while holding a wide variety of progressive academic positions at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College during that time, including teaching Chiropractic Principles and Practice for almost 30 years.  He served at Northwestern Health Sciences University from 2005-2009 as Dean of the College of Chiropractic and from 2009-2014 as Provost and Vice-President for Academic Affairs, then serving as Dean of Clinical Affairs at Texas Chiropractic College in 2015.  He is a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors and a Fellow of the Royal College of Chiropractors. Currently he is the Dean of the College of Chiropractic Medicine at Keiser University in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Marlene Wolf, MD, FAAFP

Bio: Dr. Marlene Wolf is a Family Physician and Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She retired from private practice in 2015 and is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Keiser University College of Chiropractic Medicine, where she developed the curriculum for and is presently teaching the Nutrition Therapy Seminar. She is proud to be an active Toastmaster, educating, engaging and empowering her audiences on various subjects.
