Thank you for your interest in submitting a proposal for ACA Engage 2022! We hope that you join us as we explore this year’s theme, Chiropractic Today: Innovative, Integrative, Inclusive. Please use the resources below to help you prepare your proposal.

Engage 2022 Theme: “Chiropractic Today: Innovative, Integrative, Inclusive”

The Engage 2022 Conference will focus on the following areas:  

  • Innovative:  Adapting to New Realities in Practice and Putting Evidence into Practice 
  • Integrative: Building Interprofessional Bridges and Collaborative Care 
  • Inclusive: Expanding Access to Chiropractic to Diverse Populations and Increasing Parity

Conference presenters are encouraged to incorporate one or more of the conference theme areas into their presentations; however, presentations are not required to address the theme directly.

About the Engage 2022 Call for Proposals

The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) announces its call for proposals for ACA Engage 2022. You are invited to submit a session proposal for a 1-hour didactic lecture presentation.

ACA Engage 2022, which will take place Feb. 2-5, 2022 in Washington, D.C., offers cutting-edge education, networking and leadership development opportunities, as well as the chance to educate Congress about the benefits of chiropractic to patients and society. 

ACA Engage 2022 educational programming will feature a mix of learning formats that will provide registrants with the opportunity to take courses on-demand and through in-person* learning events. Submit your education session proposal for a chance to be one of the thought-leaders who advances the profession by sharing best practices and enhancing the skills of chiropractic students and practitioners. *In-person learning opportunities are contingent on the District of Columbia local orders.

ACA welcomes proposals in the following topic areas, but not limited to:

Topics/Areas of Interest:

  • Chiropractic Adjustive Techniques or Therapies
  • Clinical Management of Special Populations and Complex Cases
  • Coding and Documentation
  • Evidence-informed guidelines and treatments (Chronic Pain, Hip, Neck, Low Back, Shoulder)
  • Evidence-informed imaging guidelines and case studies
  • Integrated Practice
  • Practice-ready topics (Acupuncture, Pediatrics, Rehab, Sports, Neurology, Nutrition, Occupational Health, etc.)
  • Research

Submission Guidelines and Information

All applicants must submit proposals electronically through ACA's Presenter Center. The deadline to submit a proposal is Monday, June 21, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. ET – so act quickly! Final submissions must be received by this date to be considered for evaluation and selection. Applicants whose proposals have been selected will be notified by email on or about August 16, 2021.

  • You should be confident and knowledgeable on the subject matter you submit. Knowledge of the latest research/evidence is critical.
  • Session proposals should be evidence-based and have practical outcomes.
  • The session title should immediately communicate the session content.
  • The presentation summary should be well-written, with clearly stated outcomes, and appropriately document theory and research.
  • ACA Engage 2022 education programs are learning experiences and noncommercial. Presentations should not be used for direct promotion of a speaker’s product, service or other self-interest.
  • The proposal should include clear and measurable learning objectives that describe what learners should be able to do upon completion of your session.
  • The proposal must contain content references that support your presentation.  References should be recent— within the last 10 years. If you plan to present the published work or research of others in your materials, you must attribute all sources in full and in writing within your submission application.
  • Please include reference or links to any past speaking engagements.  References or links on the specific topic you are presenting are preferred, but not required.
  • All submissions must include 3-5 sample presentation slides that support your presentation.
  • List only those co-presenters who have committed to your presentation.
  • Submissons must include a 2-page CV for all speakers. 
  • Speakers selected to present a session must participate in a training session to discuss technology and logistics. Sessions selected for on-demand will be pre-recorded.
  • Submission of a session proposal does not guarantee inclusion in the program.

Review and Notification

Proposals will be reviewed using the criteria outlined below.

  • Topic focus and relevance
  • Speaker’s experience with the proposed topic
  • Clarity of the learning objectives
  • Audience appeal 
  • Clinically applicable content that answers the question “How can the audience apply this into their practice?”
  • Overall clarity of the proposal

Applicants whose proposals are accepted will receive a notice of acceptance, along with the Speaker Agreement, by email during the week of August 16, 2021.
