ACA and TeamCME Partner to Provide DOT Physical Exam Training

In an effort to help doctors of chiropractic fulfill the current requirements as U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) medical examiners, the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) and TeamCME have joined forces to present a three-day training seminar for health care providers who wish to learn how to correctly administer the DOT physical exam for commercial motor vehicle drivers. The seminar will take place July 29-31 in Denver, Colo.

These educational classes will focus on correctly applying the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) medical standards to determine which drivers are medically qualified to work. Additionally, attendees will learn how to perform the DOT breath alcohol test and how to perform urine collection according to DOT regulations. DOT regulations allow those that attend this class to train and accredit their staff to perform DOT urine collections.

“ACA and TeamCME are dedicated to helping doctors of chiropractic fulfill the current requirements for DOT Medical Examiners,” said TeamCME President Michael Megehee, DC. “DCs can increase practice revenue by offering these important DOT-related services for drivers and their employers.”

“Commercial drivers and motor carriers nationwide know that TeamCME’s Web site is a good resource to find a well-qualified provider and to schedule an exam,” said ACA President Rick McMichael, DC. “Listed DCs will have an opportunity to become a DOT expert in their area and to serve another patient population in their communities.”

The seminar is being held at the Embassy Suites Denver. To reserve a room at the discounted rate, please call 303-375-0400 and mention the DOT training session. CE credit is available in Colo., D.C., Ind., Iowa, Neb., Ore., Tenn. and other states pending approval. For further details and to register, go to www.TeamCME.com and click on the "Physician's Page," then click “Training.” Early registration is strongly recommended.
