American Chiropractic Association Presents Dr. Kelli Pearson with Leadership Award
The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) recently honored Spokane Valley resident Kelli Pearson, DC, with its coveted “Drs. John Flynn - Robert Lynch Memorial Award” during the association’s annual House of Delegates meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio. The award is presented to an ACA delegate who has served the association for less than five years and has displayed exceptional service and leadership to the chiropractic profession.
Dr. Pearson is a 25-year member of ACA and currently serves as the association’s delegate to the state of Washington. In presenting her the award, ACA President Dr. Glenn Manceaux praised Dr. Pearson for her continued leadership and her work in recruiting new members to the association.
“As an active member of her local community, a dedicated servant to the chiropractic profession, and a caring doctor to her patients, Dr. Pearson is an excellent role model. We thank her for her dedication to the ACA and look forward to her continued involvement in the association,” Dr. Manceaux said.
In addition to being a leader in the ACA, she has also served as president of the Washington State Chiropractic Association. For the past ten years, Dr. Pearson has had the honor of serving as the team chiropractor for the Gonzaga Bulldogs, and since 2006 she has been the team chiropractor for the Spokane Shock.
Passionate about increasing the collaboration among health care providers, Dr. Pearson regularly lectures on the benefits of multi-disciplinary approaches to patient care. In fact, she was one of the first chiropractors in the nation to work at a HMO, and was director of Chiropractic Services at Group Health Northwest for more than 10 years.
Dr. Pearson is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles and Palmer College of Chiropractic-West. She completed her Diplomate in Orthopedics in 1987, and will this year complete her Diplomate in Occupational Health. She has practiced in the Spokane area for more than 25 years, and is currently in private practice with her husband Dana Weary at Pearson & Weary Pain Relief Clinics.
The ACA, based in Arlington, Va., is the largest chiropractic organization in the country. The ACA provides lobbying, public relations, professional and educational opportunities for doctors of chiropractic, funds research regarding chiropractic and health issues, and offers leadership for the advancement of the profession. The ACA promotes the highest standards of ethics and patient care, contributing to the health and well-being of millions of chiropractic patients.
