  VA Releases List of Facilities Designated to Provide Chiropractic Care
Calls Chiropractic "Significant Improvement" to World Class Health Care
In a move underscoring the U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs' commitment to dramatically improving the quality of health care available to millions of U.S. veterans, the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) on June 25 released its list of VA medical centers across the country initially selected to offer chiropractic care through the DVA health care system beginning this fall.

  Hiring Qualifications, Standards, Pay Scale for VA Now Available
Following recent meetings of the Chiropractic Advisory Committee with the Department of Veteran's Affairs, further information regarding salaries for DC's, hiring qualifications and grades, as well as further information about the appointments in each facility was provided to Committee members. VA officials distributed the materials at the meeting in which the 26 facilities where chiropractic care will be provided.

  DCs Are First Providers Added to U.S. Veterans Health Care System in 25 Years
Thanks to a decade-long lobbying campaign led by the ACA and the Association of Chiropractic Colleges, and decisive action by VA Secretary Anthony Principi, the VA has officially changed its thinking on chiropractic care. Doctors of chiropractic will soon become the first licensed health care providers added to the VA system in a quarter of a century.

  Chiropractic Student Loan Program Details Announced
Details of the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) chiropractic student loan repayment demonstration, a pilot program allowing doctors of chiropractic to practice in medically underserved communities for loan repayment awards, were officially published in the Feb. 9, 2005, edition of the Federal Register. The demonstration project will determine if adding doctors of chiropractic as permanent NHSC members would enhance the corps effectiveness.
