Welcome to the ACA-PAC Website!

This site is intended to provide ACA members with up-to-date information about PAC activities in Washington, DC, and throughout the country.

The ACA-PAC is the Political Action Committee of the American Chiropractic Association. The ACA-PAC is the voice of the ACA and Doctors of Chiropractic in the political arena. Its goal is to elect and support pro-chiropractic incumbents and candidates to the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives through grassroots activities, communications, and direct financial contributions. It is entirely funded by voluntary contributions from ACA members.

Q:   What is ACA-PAC?
A:   The American Chiropractic Association - Political Action Committee (ACA-PAC) is the only major political action committee dedicated to electing pro-chiropractic candidates to the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives. ACA-PAC allows ACA members to pool together financial resources to help elect pro-chiropractic candidates across the country. ACA-PAC is bi-partisan and contributes to pro-chiropractic Democrats and Republicans.

Q:  How is ACA-PAC different from NCLAF?
A:   Throughout the chiropractic profession's history, legal action has been necessary to ensure our patients' freedom of choice and access to health care in America. The National Chiropractic Legal Action Fund (NCLAF) was created to collect contributions from doctors, patients, and other chiropractic supporters in order to fund this legal action. NCLAF is not affiliated with or connected to ACA-PAC or ACAs political and legislative activism.

Q:   Who are the members of the ACA-PAC?
A:   The ACA-PAC Board consists of seven doctors of chiropractic from across the country who are active members in local and federal politics. Led by ACA-PAC Chairman, ACA Vice President, Council of Delegates, and ACA Connecticut Delegate, Dr. Keith Overland, the ACA-PAC Board's mission is to assess the political climate across the country and support the election campaigns of pro-chiropractic candidates to Congress. Q:   Who Receives ACA-PAC Support?
A:   ACA-PAC financially contributes to the campaigns of candidates or members of Congress that are supportive of the chiropractic profession. In the 2004 Election Cycle, ACA-PAC was active in 135 Congressional races across the country and contributed over $400,000 to these campaigns.

Q:   Who Can Contribute to ACA-PAC?
A:   According to Federal law, only ACA members may donate to the ACA-PAC. All contributions are completely voluntary and will not result in advantage or disadvantage in your relationship with ACA or ACA-PAC. ACA-PAC may only be funded by the voluntary contributions of ACA members. Contributions to ACA-PAC are not tax deductible.

Q:   What if I am not an ACA member, but want to contribute to ACA-PAC?
A:  It is illegal for ACA-PAC to accept contributions from non-members. Contributions from non-members will be returned. However, becoming an ACA member is easy. Learn more about the benefits of being an ACA member and support your profession today!
