Public and Media Relations Manager

American Chiropractic Association (ACA) seeks full-time public and media relations manager to assist in planning, developing and implementing association’s PR strategy. Duties include responding to inquiries from reporters and pitching ideas, arranging interviews, writing and distributing press releases to the consumer and trade press, writing letters to the editor, engaging audiences through social media, answering public inquiries for information, developing PR-related resources and talking points for doctors of chiropractic, collecting and editing short news summaries for daily newsletter and working on special projects.

Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications or related field required, as well as at least 3 years of media relations experience. Successful candidate must be a creative self-starter with strong writing and editing skills; demonstrated ability to work with reporters, develop relationships and gain media placements; a good eye for spotting PR opportunities and a history of capitalizing on them; good organizational skills and an attention to detail; and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Crisis communications experience and background in health a plus.
