ACA Launches National Search for Chief Executive Officer

The American Chiropractic Association has launched a national search for its next leader. The ACA has elevated the position title to Chief Executive Officer to better reflect the duties of the position as it continues to evolve. The Board of Governors has selected Summit Search Solutions, Inc. to conduct national outreach and pool candidates for board consideration. A search committee has been named as well. Summit’s president, Carrie Coward, will manage the project. In preparation for the search launch, Coward conducted more than 20 interviews with a variety of individuals representing the Board of Governors, members of the House of Delegates, and staff of the ACA.

More information about the ACA and the position can be found at this link.

Applications, nominations, and inquiries can be directed to Beth Baldino, Sr. Consultant / 828-216-6606, or Carrie Coward, President / 828-669-3850.

The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) announced in March that Executive Vice President, Bill O’Connell, will be retiring from his post later this year. In the meantime Mr. O’Connell continues to ensure a smooth transition in leadership. “Bill has been a superb leader of our staff organization,” said ACA’s Board Chairman, Mike Simone, DC, “he has always been a great friend to the profession and an experienced voice offering thoughtful advice to our Board of Governors.”

“We are indeed at an important crossroad for ACA.” said ACA President Keith Overland, DC. “The Board is evaluating the most desirable leadership model to continue ACA’s efforts in realizing its vision for the future.” The change in ACA’s executive suite comes on the heels of several months of discussion by its leadership with input from large numbers of its membership. This resulted in the recent adoption by its House of Delegates of a new ten year vision on which ACA will revise its strategic planning.
