Dallas - Live Large. Think Big.  
As the nation's ninth-largest city, Dallas' tourism slogan describes the essence and vitality of a city built on big dreams, freshly blazed trails and an attitude that all things are possible. This rich diverse city offers a thriving culinary scene, leading arts district, countless luxury accommodations, professional sports, trendy entertainment districts and endless shopping opportunities. The Fairmont Hotel is located to the Financial District, cultural activities, and hte West End Historic District known for its shopping, lively restaurants and nightlife.

Throughout the city, you will enjoy the best shopping in the southwest, four-and five-diamond/star restaurants, the largest urban district in the nation, 13 entertainment districts and much more. Add to that moderate weather, year-round sports, and true Southern hospitality for a true "taste" of the Dallas difference. The pioneering spirit is alive and well!

Arts
Dallas boasts the largest contiguous arts district in the nation, with top museums, performance halls and award-winning architectural designs, arts, and culture. The festivals, exhibitions, shows and performances featured in the city throughout the year are sure to enhance your trip to Dallas. Visit the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealy Plaza in the Texas School Book Depository Building and learn about the life, times, death and legacy of President John F. Kennedy or take a tour through the Meadows Museum, home of the largest and most comprehensive selection of Spanish art outside of Spain.

Dining
With over 7,000 restaurants in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, you're sure to find something to please your tastebud. Dallas' famous chefs include Tom Colicchio (head judge on the reality show "Top Chef"), Dean Fearing, Kent Rathbun (who has appeared on Food Network's "Iron Chef") and many others. Dallas is also known for its barbecue, authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisines.

Shopping
Dallas has a new look and that is their world class shopping. From high-end boutiques and malls to ecelctic vintage shopping, they have a loo kfor you. Dallas' retail history began in earnest in 1907 with the opening of Neiman Marcus, and the nation's first planned shopping center, Highland Park Village, recently designated a National Historic Landmark. Visitors to the Highland Park Village can take in a movie, grab a bite to eat at a nearby restaurant, or take a horse-drawn carraige ride. Year-round warm weather allows you to shop any time!

Sports & Recreation
Dallas is also home to the Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars and Texas Rangers. Racing also plays a large role in Texas, with Texas Motor Speedway being a major stop on the NASCAR circuit.

With 406 parks, Dallas has 61 miles of biking and jogging trails. It is also home to Six Flags over Texas, the original franchise in the Six Flags theme park chain, who also owns Hurrican Harbor, a large water park.
