Equip Your New Office with the ‘Hottest’ Products on the Market

By Victoria Houghton, Communications Associate

When it comes to furnishing your office with basic operational supplies, functionality is vital. However, style and innovation count too. And what’s the harm in turning a few heads in your office? Following are some “cool” products that ACA News spotted for chiropractic offices this summer.

Unique is one way to describe the newest exercise contraption riding into chiropractic facilities. Resembling a horse saddle, the Core Trainer from Panasonic is a new exercise option that will intrigue patients from all fitness levels. According to the manufacturer, the Core Trainer, using Counter-Balance™ exercise technology, burns calories and builds core muscles, and improves coordination, balance and flexibility. With variable program modes and settings, Panasonic deems it perfect for beginner to serious athletes. Panasonic also offers a line of massage loungers that have been endorsed by the ACA.

Don’t have room for exercise equipment for patients in your office? You might want to consider opening your own exercise facility. Fitness Together—one of the world’s largest personal training organizations—has recently diversified its franchise options to meet the needs of chiropractic personal trainers. With your very own personal training studio, you can offer one-on-one private exercise sessions and nutritional analyses to your patients. Each studio has two to three private rooms that can be tailored to patients' needs--from post-rehab to marathon runners.

While getting your patients to exercise is a significant achievement, tracking their progress is equally important. To monitor heart rate, calories burned and exercise time, consider adding the Power Glove™ from Impact Sports Technologies Inc. to your patients’ fitness gear. The one-ounce Power Glove easily slips over the hand, is washable and can be worn during any exercise. It also features an LED (light-emitting diode) display on the back of the glove for visibility during day and night workouts.

For your more fashion-forward athletic patients, Foot Levelers Inc.—in partnership with Brooks® footwear—has recently introduced a line of athletic footwear with custom-made Spinal Pelvic Stabilizers. With a line for both men and women, Foot Levelers’ stabilizers support all three arches of the foot. With four styles to choose from, your patients can run or walk in style and comfort. In addition, after an extensive review of the stabilizers by a committee of chiropractors, the ACA announced its endorsement of the product earlier this year.

Okabashi Brands Inc. footwear—another product recently endorsed by ACA—has introduced its summer-inspired Resort Collection, which includes colorful slides and thongs that are designed to promote proper weight distribution and support. With colors ranging from hot chocolate and grass to coral, these sandals are a stylish way to massage your feet all day long.

Are you concerned about the pain your patients may be in when you go home at night? Leave your worries at the office with the help of PainMaster’s MCT Patch. Two connected patches provide micro currents to patients for up to 500 hours. According to PainMaster, the currents cause a charge alteration to the affected cells, which in turn provides pain relief. The patches work without salves or analgesics and are waterproof.

An alternative pain reliever that also provides relief after hours is Medic Ice® by Straight Arrow Inc., a topical gel-based formula that cools as it soothes aching muscles. Thoroughly evaluated by a panel of chiropractors, and endorsed by the ACA, Medic Ice offers patients a combination of healing ingredients, natural herbals, minerals and essentials oils that target pain receptors without skin irritation.

In addition to pain relief, one product that may improve patient compliance is the Posture Pal® by Incubator Communications Inc. This cushion works to improve posture by stretching the chest region while allowing back muscles to relax and shrink back to normal. Moreover, the Posture Pal aims to reinforce the natural curve of the neck.

If you’re looking for a way to help reduce your patients’ blood pressure, Intercure’s RESPeRATE is an FDA-approved personalized therapeutic device that takes patients through 15 minutes of paced breathing patterns that work to relax constricted blood vessels.

Once you have all the hippest products gathered in your office, what better way to showcase your finds than with a Retail Display by Scrip Inc.? Scrip offers an attractive, ready-made display with all of its top-selling retail items that may catch the attention of those awaiting your care.

To protect your office from liability and claims risks, OUM Chiropractor Program offers Stature. This semi-annual magazine, examining risk management and chiropractic issues, aims to inform chiropractors of potential liability issues and offer tips on ways to reduce risk. Stature provides case studies, risk management pointers and wellness articles. It is available at no charge to any doctor of chiropractic.

And for your (or your patients’) personal use after a long day, sit comfortably and enjoy the commute home with the Auto Support® by Therapeutica, Inc. This back support contains a fiberglass insert that provides firmness and shape to reinforce ergonomic posture. The fiberglass is covered by soft premium-quality foam and specially woven stretch fabric. According to the manufacturer, it helps to prevents whiplash, allows flexibility in the shoulder blades, and does not obstruct the rear view. Recognizing the quality of Therapeutica products, ACA has endorsed its line of pillows and back supports.
