Fighting for Chiropractic: Simple Justice Films
Learn more about chiropractic's struggle for simple justice by watching a series of inspiring short films.

A Film about the Chiropractic Profession's
Past and Present Struggles
Doctors of chiropractic have suffered a long history of abuse at the hands of the medical establishment, from the early days when they were literally thrown into jail for "practicing medicine without a license" to efforts by today's insurance companies to create barriers to fair reimbursement of chiropractic services. "Simple Justice" tells this compelling story and offers hope for the future thanks to monumental lawsuits that are currently being waged in federal court. The film is narrated by Dr. Carl Cleveland III, president of Cleveland Chiropractic College, who as a child watched his parents-both doctors of chiropractic-live through the sometimes-frightening dramas that the profession endured in the early part of the 20th century.

As the second chapter of the "Simple Justice" story, this film highlights the many legislative victories that the chiropractic profession has won over the years despite fierce opposition from the powerful medical establishment. It also reveals the progress that has been made in securing fair reimbursement and patient access to chiropractic services through legal efforts supported by the National Chiropractic Legal Action Fund. But the struggle for chiropractic is far from over; Simple Justice II examines what needs to happen next for chiropractic to attain the parity with other health care professions that it has lacked for too many years.

The story of Lt. Col. Mark Losack, DC, has ignited the chiropractic profession with new energy and enthusiasm. Dr. Losack, a chiropractor and a Marine, was called into duty during the war in Iraq, and while stationed abroad he began giving adjustments to his fellow soldiers who were suffering from a variety of aches and pains. As chiropractic services have not traditionally been a part of field medicine in the military, there were those who vehemently opposed what Dr. Losack was doing, but still others recognized the tremendous relief he was providing and made sure that he was able to continue his work. Listen to Lt. Col. Losack talk about his experiences, as well as the legal efforts in the U.S. to ensure patient access and fair reimbursement of chiropractic services.
